The Relationship between Attachment Theory and Aspects of Psychopathology

Abstract
The relations between quality of attachment and aspects . of psychopathology from the perspectives of four major patterns of attachment in infancy are reviewed.
Attachment theory of John Bowlby and Ainsworth¢¥s traditional classification to attachment of infant (one pattern of secure attachment and three patterns of insecure attachment, avoidant, resistant and disorganized) and Adult Attachment Interview were emphasized to identify the relationship between insecure group and anxiety, phobia, dissociative disorder and malignant self-concept formation, especially in disorganized /disoriented type.
Future research- in likely to focus on the between development of attachment and psychopathology and psychiatric disorder, and their transmission from one generation to another.
